Richard Hart
I had the opportunity to photograph Richard Hart at his bakery, Hart Bageri in Copenhagen. Before opening his own bakery, Hart was head baker at the world-renowned restaurant Noma and has since published an award-winning cookbook.
The goal of this shoot was simple yet meaningful: to document the scale, effort, and dedication that go into making sourdough bread at the hands of a master craftsman.
I walked into the bakery with no knowledge of the space, light, or workflow. To stay nimble and unobtrusive, I worked with minimal gear — a Leica Q2 and a small 35mm film camera and relied entirely on available light.
The resulting images are both intimate and expansive, showing the human effort behind a celebrated bakery. Projects like this highlight how I approach storytelling with sensitivity, adaptability, and elevated taste while creating polished, brand-ready imagery even with a nimble setup.
